Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work The Phoenix by Grace Hartigan was sold in the 20th Century Evening Sale auction at Christies in New York in May 2021. Here, the upper estimate of USD 600,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 687,500.00 (€ 563,801.87). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Grace Hartigan - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Early November, which sold at auction in May last year for USD 1,380,000.00 (€ 1,285,993.85).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit The Phoenix von Grace Hartigan wurde im Mai 2021 in der Auktion 20th Century Evening Sale bei Christies in New York versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 600.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 687.500,00 (€ 563.801,87) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Grace Hartigan mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Early November beobachtet, die im Mai letzten Jahres für USD 1.380.000,00 (€ 1.285.993,85) versteigert wurde.
