In September this year Bonhams in Skinner Marlborough, Massachusetts held the auction Prints & Photographs, which included the work Little Putney Bridge by James Abbott McNeill Whistler. The »bidding war« ended at USD 1,020 (€ 1,043), 46% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by James Abbott McNeill Whistler achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Whistler Smoking in November last year with an auction result of USD 1,200,000 (€ 1,063,170).

Im September diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in Skinner Marlborough, Massachusetts die Auktion Prints & Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Little Putney Bridge von James Abbott McNeill Whistler zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 1.020 (€ 1.043) und damit 46% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von James Abbott McNeill Whistler erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Whistler Smoking im November letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.200.000 (€ 1.063.170).
