The work Le Présent se change en passé by Jean Dubuffet was sold in the Modern Evening Auction auction at Sothebys in New York in May last year. The »bidding war« ended at USD 4,527,000.00 (€ 4,218,618.95), 29% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Jean Dubuffet have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Paris Polka in May 2015 with an auction result of USD 24,805,000.00 (€ 22,562,306.71).

Die Arbeit Le Présent se change en passé von Jean Dubuffet wurde im Mai letzten Jahres in der Auktion Modern Evening Auction bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 4.527.000,00 (€ 4.218.618,95) und damit 29% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jean Dubuffet auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Paris Polka im Mai 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 24.805.000,00 (€ 22.562.306,71).
