Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Dos Cabezas by Jean-Michel Basquiat was auctioned at Christies in New York in November 2010. The price achieved of USD 7,082,500.00 (€ 5,433,031.60) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 6,000,000.00 – 10,000,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jean-Michel Basquiat achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in May 2017 with an auction result of USD 110,487,500.00 (€ 98,333,481.67).

Die Arbeit Dos Cabezas von Jean-Michel Basquiat kam im November 2010 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 7.082.500,00 (€ 5.433.031,60) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 6.000.000,00 – 10.000.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jean-Michel Basquiat erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit ohne Titel im Mai 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 110.487.500,00 (€ 98.333.481,67).
