Auction result misses estimated price range
In May 2017 a collector was able to acquire the work Jamita by John Currin for USD 343,500.00 (€ 305,713.78). This price was achieved in the auction Post-War and Contemporary Art Afternoon Session at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 350,000.00 – 450,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Currin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nice 'n Easy in November 2016 with an auction result of USD 12,007,500.00 (€ 11,351,389.68).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Mai 2017 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Jamita von John Currin für USD 343.500,00 (€ 305.713,78) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Afternoon Session bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 350.000,00 – 450.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Currin erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Nice 'n Easy im November 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 12.007.500,00 (€ 11.351.389,68).
