Auction result misses estimated price range
In January 2024 a collector was able to acquire the work Nanea, Hawaii by John Melville Kelly for USD 409.60 (€ 357.98). This price was achieved in the auction Prints & Photographs at Bonhams in Skinner Boston and was even below the estimate range of USD 500.00 – 700.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Melville Kelly achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Kaonohi, c. 1920 in August this year with an auction result of USD 5,760.00 (€ 5,314.14).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Januar 2024 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Nanea, Hawaii von John Melville Kelly für USD 409,60 (€ 357,98) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Prints & Photographs bei Bonhams in Skinner Boston erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 500,00 – 700,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Melville Kelly erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Kaonohi, c. 1920 im August diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 5.760,00 (€ 5.314,14).
