Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Kiss Me by Julião Sarmento was sold in the Post-War and Contemporary Afternoon Session auction at Christies in New York in November 2010. Here, the upper estimate of USD 40,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 43,750.00 (€ 33,560.91). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Julião Sarmento - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Emma 4, which sold at auction in February 2004 for GBP 50,190.00 (€ 74,936.04).

Die Arbeit Kiss Me von Julião Sarmento wurde im November 2010 in der Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Afternoon Session bei Christies in New York versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 40.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 43.750,00 (€ 33.560,91) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Julião Sarmento mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Emma 4 beobachtet, die im Februar 2004 für GBP 50.190,00 (€ 74.936,04) versteigert wurde.
