Upper estimated price slightly exceeded

Here, the upper estimate of USD 50,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 53,340.00 (€ 48,402.90). Admittedly, works by Katherine Bernhardt have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work without title in May last year with an auction result of HKD 3,150,000.00 (€ 373,972.60).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Socks + Basketballs + Pizza + Plantains + Toilet Paper von Katherine Bernhardt kam im Juli diesen Jahres bei Phillips in New York zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 50.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 53.340,00 (€ 48.402,90) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Katherine Bernhardt auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit ohne Titel im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 3.150.000,00 (€ 373.972,60).
