Auction result well in line with expectations
In May last year Sothebys in New York held the auction Modern Evening Auction, which included the work Nu au chapeau by Kees van Dongen. The price achieved of USD 1,381,000.00 (€ 1,286,925.73) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 1,200,000.00 – 1,800,000.00. Admittedly, works by Kees van Dongen have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work La Quiétude in October this year with an auction result of GBP 10,775,000.00 (€ 12,372,693.51).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai letzten Jahres führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Modern Evening Auction durch, in der auch die Arbeit Nu au chapeau von Kees van Dongen zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 1.381.000,00 (€ 1.286.925,73) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 1.200.000,00 – 1.800.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Kees van Dongen auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit La Quiétude im Oktober diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 10.775.000,00 (€ 12.372.693,51).
