Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2020 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Art Evening Auction, which included the work Untitled (Blot) by Kerry James Marshall. The price achieved of USD 2,970,000.00 (€ 2,550,012.88) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 2,500,000.00 – 3,500,000.00. Admittedly, works by Kerry James Marshall have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Past Times in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 21,114,500.00 (€ 18,092,973.44).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2020 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Art Evening Auction durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (Blot) von Kerry James Marshall zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 2.970.000,00 (€ 2.550.012,88) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 2.500.000,00 – 3.500.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Kerry James Marshall auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Past Times im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 21.114.500,00 (€ 18.092.973,44).
