The work Dividing Lines by Lorna Simpson was sold in the POST WAR AND CONTEMPORARY ART auction at Christies in New York in November 2000. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 3,055.00 (€ 3,513.92) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lorna Simpson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Day For Night in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 375,000.00 (€ 321,336.76).
