The work Garden from the Window by Lucian Freud was sold in the 20th/21st Century: London Evening Sale auction at Christies in London in February this year. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 4,602,000.00 (€ 5,249,196.94), 31% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lucian Freud achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Large Interior, W11 (after Watteau) in November last year with an auction result of USD 86,265,000.00 (€ 83,565,823.89).

Die Arbeit Garden from the Window von Lucian Freud wurde im Februar diesen Jahres in der Auktion 20th/21st Century: London Evening Sale bei Christies in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 4.602.000,00 (€ 5.249.196,94) und damit 31% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Lucian Freud erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Large Interior, W11 (after Watteau) im November letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 86.265.000,00 (€ 83.565.823,89).
