The work Gruby by Magdalena Abakanowicz was auctioned at Christies in October 2021. It achieved a price of EUR 137,500.00 exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 72 %. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Magdalena Abakanowicz - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Flock (12 Standing Figures, from 'Ragazzi' Cycle), which sold at auction in November 2017 for USD 480,500.00 (€ 403,849.39).

Die Arbeit Gruby von Magdalena Abakanowicz kam im Oktober 2021 bei Christies zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von EUR 137.500,00 und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 72 %. Für andere Arbeiten von Magdalena Abakanowicz mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Flock (12 Standing Figures, from 'Ragazzi' Cycle) beobachtet, die im November 2017 für USD 480.500,00 (€ 403.849,39) versteigert wurde.
