Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Girl I by Manolo Valdés was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in March 2021, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 70,000.00 – 100,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 69,300.00 (€ 59,013.88). Admittedly, works by Manolo Valdés have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Infanta Margarita in February 2011 with an auction result of GBP 457,250.00 (€ 538,602.24).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Girl I von Manolo Valdés im März 2021 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 70.000,00 – 100.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 69.300,00 (€ 59.013,88) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Manolo Valdés auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Infanta Margarita im Februar 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 457.250,00 (€ 538.602,24).
