Auction result well in line with expectations
In June last year Sothebys in Paris held the auction Art Contemporain Day Auction, which included the work Casier de sourires by Marcel Broodthaers. It changed hands for a price of EUR 47,880.00 achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of EUR 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Marcel Broodthaers achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Surface de moules (avec sac) (Surface of mussels (with bag)) in June 2012 with an auction result of GBP 433,250.00 (€ 536,466.65).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni letzten Jahres führte Sothebys in Paris die Auktion Art Contemporain Day Auction durch, in der auch die Arbeit Casier de sourires von Marcel Broodthaers zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von EUR 47.880,00 den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 30.000,00 – 50.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Marcel Broodthaers erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Surface de moules (avec sac) (Surface of mussels (with bag)) im Juni 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 433.250,00 (€ 536.466,65).
