Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Michael Eastman could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in October 2015 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Photographs auction, the work 'Red Bathroom' (Havana) changed hands for USD 6,000.00 (€ 5,433.80) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Admittedly, works by Michael Eastman have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Isabella's Two Chairs with Laundry, 2000 in May 2008 with an auction result of GBP 22,100.00 (€ 28,112.17).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Michael Eastman konnte im Oktober 2015 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Photographs wechselte die Arbeit 'Red Bathroom' (Havana) für USD 6.000,00 (€ 5.433,80) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Michael Eastman auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Isabella's Two Chairs with Laundry, 2000 im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 22.100,00 (€ 28.112,17).
