Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
The work Valérie, Axel and Johanna at Le Pulp by Nan Goldin was worth EUR 21,420.00 to a buyer in November last year. This price was achieved in the auction 20th/21st Century: Amsterdam at Christies in Amsterdam and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of EUR 7,000.00 many times over. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Nan Goldin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Thanksgiving in May 2002 with an auction result of USD 284,500.00 (€ 304,636.47).

Die Arbeit Valérie, Axel and Johanna at Le Pulp von Nan Goldin war einem Käufer im November letzten Jahres EUR 21.420,00 wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion 20th/21st Century: Amsterdam bei Christies in Amsterdam erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 7.000,00 um ein Vielfaches. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Nan Goldin erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Thanksgiving im Mai 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 284.500,00 (€ 304.636,47).
