Auction result well in line with expectations
The work La Fin du voyage by Paul Delvaux was sold in the Modern Evening Auction auction at Sothebys in New York in May last year. The price achieved of USD 2,320,000.00 (€ 2,161,960.67) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 2,000,000.00 – 3,000,000.00. Admittedly, works by Paul Delvaux have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Le Miroir in February 2016 with an auction result of GBP 7,317,000.00 (€ 9,375,831.98).
