Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Summer Kitchen Still Life by Philip Guston was sold in the Post-War & Contemporary Art Evening Sale auction at Christies in New York in November 2017. It changed hands for a price of USD 6,612,500.00 (€ 5,557,656.75) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 5,000,000.00 – 7,000,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Philip Guston - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Strong Light, which sold at auction in November 2021 for USD 24,393,000.00 (€ 21,611,588.55).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Summer Kitchen Still Life von Philip Guston wurde im November 2017 in der Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art Evening Sale bei Christies in New York versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 6.612.500,00 (€ 5.557.656,75) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 5.000.000,00 – 7.000.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Philip Guston mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Strong Light beobachtet, die im November 2021 für USD 24.393.000,00 (€ 21.611.588,55) versteigert wurde.
