Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Pia Fries achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in November 2018. In the Contemporary Curated auction, the work Schiers sold for GBP 10,625.00 (€ 11,984.68) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 4,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Pia Fries; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot „Windwuchs“ sold at auction in June last year with the realized price of EUR 21,250.00.

Dieses Kunstwerk von Pia Fries erzielte im November 2018 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Curated wurde die Arbeit Schiers für GBP 10.625,00 (€ 11.984,68) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 4.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Pia Fries; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit „Windwuchs“ im Juni letzten Jahres mit dem Hammerpreis von EUR 21.250,00.
