The work Bunraku puppet maker 1949 by Junichiro Sekino was sold in the Japanese and Korean Art auction at Christies in New York in September 2005. The result of USD 1,200.00 (€ 995.19) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 1,200.00 – 1,800.00. Admittedly, works by Junichiro Sekino have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Yoshida Bungoro in March 2001 with an auction result of USD 3,525.00 (€ 4,008.41).
