Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Suzanne McClelland achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in New York in February 2018. In the New Now auction, the work Purkift sold for USD 7,500.00 (€ 6,142.00) - well above the upper estimate of USD 3,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Suzanne McClelland - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Ideal Proportions: Squeeze - A Winning Hand, which sold at auction in March 2021 for GBP 18,750.00 (€ 22,026.42).
