Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2021 Christies held the auction L'art à fleur de peau, parcours d'une collectionneuse, which included the work Ma mère malade à Rheinenfeld by Varlin. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 22,500.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Varlin have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Winter in Bondo, 1971/72 in May 2015 with an auction result of CHF 168,000.00 (€ 162,483.54).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2021 führte Christies die Auktion L'art à fleur de peau, parcours d'une collectionneuse durch, in der auch die Arbeit Ma mère malade à Rheinenfeld von Varlin zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 22.500,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Varlin auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Winter in Bondo, 1971/72 im Mai 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von CHF 168.000,00 (€ 162.483,54).
