The work Big Bear by Verne Dawson was worth USD 21,250.00 (€ 17,180.05) to a buyer in May 2010. This price was achieved in the auction Contemporary Art Part II at Phillips in New York and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of USD 7,000.00 many times over. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Verne Dawson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Manhattan, which sold at auction in November 2003 for USD 47,800.00 (€ 39,849.94).
