Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In May 2018 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Asian 20th Century & Contemporary Art (Evening Sale) / Contemporaries: Voices from East and West (Evening Sale), which included the work Pounding Rice by Vicente Silva Manansala. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 2,125,000.00 (€ 232,165.81), 18% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Vicente Silva Manansala have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Tiangge (Market Scene) in November this year with an auction result of HKD 8,190,000.00 (€ 961,056.11).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Mai 2018 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Asian 20th Century & Contemporary Art (Evening Sale) / Contemporaries: Voices from East and West (Evening Sale) durch, in der auch die Arbeit Pounding Rice von Vicente Silva Manansala zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 2.125.000,00 (€ 232.165,81) und damit 18% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Vicente Silva Manansala auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Tiangge (Market Scene) im November diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 8.190.000,00 (€ 961.056,11).
