Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Barn with a Blue Window by Wolf Kahn was auctioned at Phillips in New York in July this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 18,000.00 – 25,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 17,780.00 (€ 16,134.30). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wolf Kahn achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Atlantic Highlands in November 2021 with an auction result of USD 212,500.00 (€ 188,269.69).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Barn with a Blue Window von Wolf Kahn im Juli diesen Jahres bei Phillips in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 18.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 17.780,00 (€ 16.134,30) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Wolf Kahn erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Atlantic Highlands im November 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 212.500,00 (€ 188.269,69).
