Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work paper drop (black) by Wolfgang Tillmans was auctioned at Phillips in New York in September this year. It achieved a price of USD 73,660.00 (€ 69,595.62), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 23%. Admittedly, works by Wolfgang Tillmans have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Freischwimmer #84 in June 2017 with an auction result of GBP 605,000.00 (€ 688,982.12).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit paper drop (black) von Wolfgang Tillmans kam im September diesen Jahres bei Phillips in New York zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 73.660,00 (€ 69.595,62) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 23%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Wolfgang Tillmans auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Freischwimmer #84 im Juni 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 605.000,00 (€ 688.982,12).
