In May 2017 Christies in New York held the auction Post-War and Contemporary Art Afternoon Session, which included the work Silver 115 by Wolfgang Tillmans. The »bidding war« ended at USD 106,250.00 (€ 94,562.12), 33% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Wolfgang Tillmans have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Freischwimmer #84 in June 2017 with an auction result of GBP 605,000.00 (€ 688,982.12).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 33 % übertroffen
Im Mai 2017 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Afternoon Session durch, in der auch die Arbeit Silver 115 von Wolfgang Tillmans zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 106.250,00 (€ 94.562,12) und damit 33% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Wolfgang Tillmans auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Freischwimmer #84 im Juni 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 605.000,00 (€ 688.982,12).
