Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In November last year Phillips in Hong Kong held the auction 20th Century & Contemporary Art & Design Day Sale in association with Yongle, which included the work Pumpkin (2) by Yayoi Kusama. Here, the upper estimate of HKD 600,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for HKD 604,800.00 (€ 75,050.74). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Yayoi Kusama achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Pumpkin in April this year with an auction result of HKD 30,000,000.00 (€ 30,635,869.57).
