Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Relief Éponge bleu sans titre (RE 37) by Yves Klein was sold in the Post-War and Contemporary Art Evening Auction auction at Christies in London in March 2018. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 3,000,000.00 – 5,000,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 3,368,750.00 (€ 3,835,507.81) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Yves Klein have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Anthropométrie de l’époque bleue, (ANT 124) (Anthropometry of the Blue Period), (ANT 124)) in June last year with an auction result of GBP 27,197,000.00 (€ 31,595,177.57).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Relief Éponge bleu sans titre (RE 37) von Yves Klein wurde im März 2018 in der Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Evening Auction bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 3.000.000,00 – 5.000.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 3.368.750,00 (€ 3.835.507,81) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Yves Klein auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Anthropométrie de l’époque bleue, (ANT 124) (Anthropometry of the Blue Period), (ANT 124)) im Juni letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 27.197.000,00 (€ 31.595.177,57).
