In February this year Christies in London held the auction 20th/21st Century: London Evening Sale, which included the work Sculpture éponge bleue sans titre (SE 328) by Yves Klein. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,122,000.00 (€ 1,279,791.17), 40% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Yves Klein achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Anthropométrie de l’époque bleue, (ANT 124) (Anthropometry of the Blue Period), (ANT 124)) in June last year with an auction result of GBP 27,197,000.00 (€ 31,595,177.57).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 40 % übertroffen
Im Februar diesen Jahres führte Christies in London die Auktion 20th/21st Century: London Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Sculpture éponge bleue sans titre (SE 328) von Yves Klein zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.122.000,00 (€ 1.279.791,17) und damit 40% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Yves Klein erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Anthropométrie de l’époque bleue, (ANT 124) (Anthropometry of the Blue Period), (ANT 124)) im Juni letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 27.197.000,00 (€ 31.595.177,57).
