Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Untitled #2 by Agnes Martin was sold in the A Century of Art: The Gerald Fineberg Collection Part I auction at Christies in New York in May this year. The price achieved of USD 4,164,000.00 (€ 3,908,391.21) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 3,000,000.00 – 5,000,000.00. Admittedly, works by Agnes Martin have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled #44 in November 2021 with an auction result of USD 17,728,800.00 (€ 15,707,273.85).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Untitled #2 von Agnes Martin wurde im Mai diesen Jahres in der Auktion A Century of Art: The Gerald Fineberg Collection Part I bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 4.164.000,00 (€ 3.908.391,21) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 3.000.000,00 – 5.000.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Agnes Martin auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Untitled #44 im November 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 17.728.800,00 (€ 15.707.273,85).
