In November this year Christies in New York held the auction Visionary: The Paul G. Allen Collection Part I, which included the work Femme de Venise III by Alberto Giacometti. The »bidding war« ended at USD 25,007,500 (€ 21,855,882), 25% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Alberto Giacometti have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work L'homme au doigt in May 2015 with an auction result of USD 141,285,000 (€ 128,511,006).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 25% übertroffen
Die Arbeit Femme de Venise III von Alberto Giacometti wurde im November diesen Jahres in der Auktion Visionary: The Paul G. Allen Collection Part I bei Christies in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 25.007.500 (€ 21.855.882) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Alberto Giacometti auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit L'homme au doigt im Mai 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 141.285.000 (€ 128.511.006).
