Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Le Port de Bordeaux by André Lhote was sold in the Modern Day Auction auction at Sothebys in New York in May last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 60,480.00 (€ 56,360.08) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by André Lhote achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work La danse au bar (Gypsy Bar) in November 2007 with an auction result of USD 2,729,000.00 (€ 1,857,979.30).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Le Port de Bordeaux von André Lhote wurde im Mai letzten Jahres in der Auktion Modern Day Auction bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 60.000,00 – 80.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 60.480,00 (€ 56.360,08) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von André Lhote erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit La danse au bar (Gypsy Bar) im November 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.729.000,00 (€ 1.857.979,30).
