This artwork by André Lhote achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in February 2015. In the Impressionist & Modern Art Day Sale auction, the work L'Escale sold for GBP 389,000.00 (€ 536,373.22) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 200,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by André Lhote - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work La danse au bar (Gypsy Bar), which sold at auction in November 2007 for USD 2,729,000.00 (€ 1,857,979.30).

Dieses Kunstwerk von André Lhote erzielte im Februar 2015 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Impressionist & Modern Art Day Sale wurde die Arbeit L'Escale für GBP 389.000,00 (€ 536.373,22) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 200.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von André Lhote mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit La danse au bar (Gypsy Bar) beobachtet, die im November 2007 für USD 2.729.000,00 (€ 1.857.979,30) versteigert wurde.
