Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Crucifixion Rouge (Red Crucifixion) by Antonio Saura was auctioned at Christies in London in March 2021, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 250,000.00 – 350,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 237,500.00 (€ 279,001.32). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Antonio Saura - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Crucifixion noire et rouge, which sold at auction in February 2007 for GBP 535,200.00 (€ 793,414.78).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Crucifixion Rouge (Red Crucifixion) von Antonio Saura im März 2021 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 250.000,00 – 350.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 237.500,00 (€ 279.001,32) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Antonio Saura mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Crucifixion noire et rouge beobachtet, die im Februar 2007 für GBP 535.200,00 (€ 793.414,78) versteigert wurde.
