Auction result well in line with expectations
In May last year Sothebys in New York held the auction Modern Day Auction, which included the work Étude pour "L'Harmonie" by Aristide Maillol. The price achieved of USD 567,000.00 (€ 528,375.73) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 500,000.00 – 700,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Aristide Maillol achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work La Riviere, 1938-1943 in December 2013 with an auction result of EUR 6,033,500.00.
