Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Christopher Wool could be acquired at Christies in New York in May this year for an unexpectedly low price. In the A Century of Art: The Gerald Fineberg Collection Part I auction, this work without title changed hands for USD 819,000.00 (€ 768,725.36) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 1,500,000.00 – 2,000,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Christopher Wool achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled (Riot) in May 2015 with an auction result of USD 29,930,000.00 (€ 27,223,940.33).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Christopher Wool konnte im Mai diesen Jahres bei Christies in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion A Century of Art: The Gerald Fineberg Collection Part I wechselte diese Arbeit ohne Titel für USD 819.000,00 (€ 768.725,36) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 1.500.000,00 – 2.000.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Christopher Wool erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled (Riot) im Mai 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 29.930.000,00 (€ 27.223.940,33).
