In May 2017 Christies in New York held the auction Post-War and Contemporary Art Afternoon Session, which included the work Untitled #205 by Cindy Sherman. The »bidding war« ended at USD 547,500.00 (€ 487,273.05), 56% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Cindy Sherman have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled #93 in May 2014 with an auction result of USD 3,861,000.00 (€ 2,830,645.16).

Im Mai 2017 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Afternoon Session durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled #205 von Cindy Sherman zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 547.500,00 (€ 487.273,05) und damit 56% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Cindy Sherman auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Untitled #93 im Mai 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 3.861.000,00 (€ 2.830.645,16).
