This artwork by Cyril Power achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in London in June last year. In the Prints and Multiples auction, the work The Merry-Go-Round sold for GBP 48,180.00 (€ 55,971.45) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 25,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Cyril Power; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Whence & Whither? (C.
