Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by David Hockney achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in London in June last year. In the Prints and Multiples auction, the work Pool made with paper and blue ink for book sold for GBP 48,180.00 (€ 55,971.45) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 20,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by David Hockney achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nichols Canyon in December 2020 with an auction result of USD 41,067,500.00 (€ 33,579,313.16).
