Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work The Conversation by David Hockney was sold in the Visionary: The Paul G. Allen Collection Part I auction at Christies in New York in November last year. Here, the upper estimate of USD 7,000,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 7,832,500.00 (€ 7,587,426.14). Admittedly, works by David Hockney have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Nichols Canyon in December 2020 with an auction result of USD 41,067,500.00 (€ 33,579,313.16).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit The Conversation von David Hockney wurde im November letzten Jahres in der Auktion Visionary: The Paul G. Allen Collection Part I bei Christies in New York versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 7.000.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 7.832.500,00 (€ 7.587.426,14) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von David Hockney auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Nichols Canyon im Dezember 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 41.067.500,00 (€ 33.579.313,16).
