Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Identical Twins, Roselle, N.J., 1967 by Diane Arbus was sold in the Photographs auction at Christies in New York in October 2004. The price achieved of USD 43,020.00 (€ 33,751.77) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Diane Arbus achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A box of ten photographs in May this year with an auction result of USD 1,008,000.00 (€ 946,123.52).

Die Arbeit Identical Twins, Roselle, N.J., 1967 von Diane Arbus wurde im Oktober 2004 in der Auktion Photographs bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 43.020,00 (€ 33.751,77) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Diane Arbus erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A box of ten photographs im Mai diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.008.000,00 (€ 946.123,52).
