Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Triple Stack by Frank Stella was sold in the Post-War & Contemporary Art auction at Bonhams in May this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 40,695.00 (€ 38,196.92) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Frank Stella achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Point Of Pines in May 2019 with an auction result of USD 28,082,500.00 (€ 25,188,357.70).
