Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In June 2021 Phillips in New York held the auction 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Afternoon Session, which included the work Samurai Tree 20W by Gabriel Orozco. Here, the upper estimate of USD 300,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 302,400.00 (€ 255,232.95). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gabriel Orozco - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Dandelion, which sold at auction in May 2018 for USD 795,000.00 (€ 681,233.93).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Juni 2021 führte Phillips in New York die Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Afternoon Session durch, in der auch die Arbeit Samurai Tree 20W von Gabriel Orozco zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 300.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 302.400,00 (€ 255.232,95) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Gabriel Orozco mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Dandelion beobachtet, die im Mai 2018 für USD 795.000,00 (€ 681.233,93) versteigert wurde.
