Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Boudoir by George Grosz was auctioned at Christies in London in March this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 25,000.00 – 35,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 25,200.00 (€ 28,669.87) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Grosz achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Gefährliche Straße in February 2020 with an auction result of GBP 9,740,250.00 (€ 11,288,971.84).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Boudoir von George Grosz kam im März diesen Jahres bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 25.000,00 – 35.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 25.200,00 (€ 28.669,87) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von George Grosz erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Gefährliche Straße im Februar 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 9.740.250,00 (€ 11.288.971,84).
