It achieved a price of GBP 90,720.00 (€ 103,211.52), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 51%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Grosz achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Gefährliche Straße in February 2020 with an auction result of GBP 9,740,250.00 (€ 11,288,971.84).

Die Arbeit Schlangenhaut und Pantinen von George Grosz wurde im März diesen Jahres in der Auktion Impressionist and Modern Art Day and Works on Paper Sale bei Christies in London versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 90.720,00 (€ 103.211,52) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 51%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von George Grosz erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Gefährliche Straße im Februar 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 9.740.250,00 (€ 11.288.971,84).
