Auction result well in line with expectations
In May last year Sothebys in New York held the auction Modern Day Auction, which included the work Etoile by George Rickey. The price achieved of USD 81,900.00 (€ 76,320.94) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 70,000.00 – 90,000.00. Admittedly, works by George Rickey have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work One Fixed Four Jointed Lines in May 2019 with an auction result of USD 519,000.00 (€ 465,512.60).
