In July 2001 Christies in London held the auction Old Master, Modern and Contemporary Prints, which included the work Femme Assise (V. 24) by Georges Braque. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 3,290.00 (€ 5,357.53), 32% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Georges Braque achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Paysage À La Ciotat in May 2013 with an auction result of USD 15,845,000.00 (€ 12,199,722.82).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 32 % übertroffen
Im Juli 2001 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Master, Modern and Contemporary Prints durch, in der auch die Arbeit Femme Assise (V. 24) von Georges Braque zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 3.290,00 (€ 5.357,53) und damit 32% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Georges Braque erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Paysage À La Ciotat im Mai 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 15.845.000,00 (€ 12.199.722,82).
