Auction result well in line with expectations
The work La Seine À L'Île Marante Par Temps Brumeux by Gustave Caillebotte was sold in the Impressionist & Modern Art Day Sale auction at Sothebys in New York in May 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 500,000.00 – 700,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 536,000.00 (€ 480,760.61) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gustave Caillebotte achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Jeune homme à sa fenêtre in November 2021 with an auction result of USD 53,030,000.00 (€ 46,983,255.07).

Die Arbeit La Seine À L'Île Marante Par Temps Brumeux von Gustave Caillebotte wurde im Mai 2019 in der Auktion Impressionist & Modern Art Day Sale bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 500.000,00 – 700.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 536.000,00 (€ 480.760,61) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
